After Christmas Activity: Family Movie Night
It’s a few a days after Christmas the kids are still on Christmas break. Even with all the new toys and games the kids are probably getting a bit restless and in need of an after Christmas activity to keep them busy. Meanwhile there is a part of you who is relieved that the holidays are over while another part of you has the after Christmas blues. Now more than ever is a great time to unwind and relax with the whole family over a good movie.
Chances are the kids got some new dvds. Having a movie night is the perfect after Christmas activity for the entire family. It gets dark out early this time of year and chances are it is cold where you live. Time to make some hot chocolate and snuggle for a nice evening in.
Movie night is a fun and frugal before and after Christmas activity, However, this also makes a fun monthly or even weekly tradition. Make something light for dinner and enjoy snacks with your movie. Chips and dip, popcorn, or cheese and crackers along with cold drinks or hot chocolate depending on your mood will give you a nice evening in at very little cost.
You may If you don’t have any movies at home to watch then you might need to head out to a rental shop. Still this will save you a lot of money over a trip to the movies. Even a matinee with popcorn for a family of four would easily cost anywhere from $5.00-$10.00 per person.
What type of movies does your family enjoy most? If your children are small you will be compromising on something that they will enjoy however just spending time as a family is what will makes it special.
If you are feeling nostalgic why not find some older movies that you enjoyed when you were a child or young teen. Most likely you’ll still think the movies are funny and your children may very well have fun with them, too. You may even find these for free at the library.
Cooler weather means spending more time indoors. Warm up this winter by enjoying some movies, spending time with loved ones for the perfect after Christmas activity.
